چکیده

This paper describes a radio-frequency receiver targeting spread-spectrum wireless local-area-network applications in the 2.4-GHz band. Based on a direct-conversion architecture, the receiver employs partial channel selection filtering, dc offset removal, and baseband amplification. Fabricated in a 0.6m CMOS technology, the receiver achieves a noise figure of 8.3 dB, IP3 of 9 dBm, IP 2 of +22 dBm, and voltage gain of 34 dB while dissipating 80 mW from a 3-V supply.

Extending the scope of 802.11 WLAN through LMMSE CDMA receiver structures

This paper describes the performance of an LMMSE receiver which has been adapted to operate according to the IEEE 802.11 2.4 GHz wireless LAN (WLAN) standard. The LMMSE receiver offers significant theoretical advantages in terms of interference suppression, ability to operate in substantially time-dispersive environments, and operation in non-line of sight conditions. These advantages combine t...

The BVS 2.4 GHz WLAN Sweeper Grasshopper Receiver

IEEE 802.11 has captured the support of major wireless industry leaders. The growth and commercialization seen by the personal communications sector may be finally spilling over to the Wireless LAN sector, but I still remember the cold and stormy night back in 88 when I started working on a Wireless LAN at a start-up. That venture didn t work, but it did provide valuable insight into the proble...

130 nm CMOS Mixer and VCO for 2.4 GHz Low-power Wireless Personal Area Networks

This paper describes a 2.4 GHz passive switch mixer and a 5/2.5 GHz voltage-controlled negative Gm oscillator (VCO) with an inversion-mode MOS varactor. Both circuits are implemented using a 1P8M 0.13 μm process. The switch mixer has an input referred 1 dB compression point of −3.89 dBm and a conversion gain of −0.96 dB when the local oscillator power is +2.5 dBm. The VCO consumes only 1.75 mW,...
